What’s Included…

State Rooms

The state rooms on the Disney cruise ships are in fact a little bit larger than the standard state rooms that you find on other cruise lines.

Non-Alcoholic Beverages

Pop is not typically included on other cruise lines and you will most likely have to buy a drink package. This is not the case with the Disney Cruise Line. So that’s anything from the fountain; pop, tea, and coffee.

Character Meet and Greets

Another thing unique to the Disney cruise line is character meet and greets. The character meet and greets are included in your cruise fare. Some of these character meet and greets require a ticket (which is free), but a lot of them appear throughout the day while your sailing. The time of these will be listed on your Navigator (daily itinerary) for the day.

Castaway Cay (some itineraries)

Probably one of the best things that is included with your cruise fare is the chance to visit Disney’s private Island Castaway Cay. It is a beautiful tropical paradise. There is yummy lunch, you can have drinks on the beach, a private area for adults, a place for the kids to go…it is so much fun.

Rotational Dining

Another one super unique to Disney is rotational dining. So rotational dining is included with your Disney cruise fare. If you aren’t sure what I mean about rotational dining, check out my post here where I explained all the details.

Onboard Activities

Almost all of the onboard activities are included in your cruise fare. That is Disney-style Broadway shows in theatre. There’s a movie theatre where you can see movies before they’re even released to the general public. There’s tons of activities for your family; Animation Academy, where you can learn how to draw Disney characters, family feud-like game shows, water slides, and movies on the pool deck. So many things to do, and it’s all included in your cruise fare.

Quick Service Dining

Food at Cabanas Buffet, Quick Service Foods, and unlimited soft serve ice cream. Those are all your food choices in addition to your rotational dining that is included with your cruise fare.

Kids Clubs

Of course, the kids clubs are included with your Disney cruise fare and there are three different kids clubs; the Oceaneers Club, Edge, and Vibe all for different age groups.

Fitness Centre

For those of you who want to make sure you have access to the fitness facilities on your vacation. So you can indulge a little bit more on those treats and sweets. The fitness centre is included in your cruise fare.

Room Service

A lot of people don’t know that room service is included with your cruise fare. So if you want to order a Mickey premium bar, you have a hunkering for a cheese platter or some hot wings, you can just call them up, order and they’ll deliver it right to your room. But remember that those tips are not included in the room service. So make sure you have a little bit of cash extra to tip those kind of cast members delivering your food.

Unfortunately, there are some things that are not included with your Disney cruise fare.

What’s Not Included…

Specialty Coffee

You will have to pay for specialty coffee. So if you want that latte or a macchiato, you’re going to have to pay a little premium for that. There is free regular coffee around the pop station. So you can have that coffee, but honestly, it’s not that great. So maybe splurge a little bit and buy yourself a specialty coffee, but you will have to pay for that.

Specialty Ice Cream

Specialty Ice Cream is not included. You know, from earlier the soft serve ice cream is unlimited, but if you want any of that hard scoop ice cream from like Penelope is you’ll have to pay a little bit extra for that. Also, you can get Dole Whip on the ship. You can also get Dole Whip with alcohol in it, but you’ll have to pay a little bit extra for that.

Adult Dining

Any adult dining that you would like to do such as dining at Palo or Remy for brunch or dinner, you’ll have to pay a little bit extra for that. I have some more info about all your dining options on the Disney Cruise Line that you can read here.

Gratuities

Gratuities are not included in your cruise fare. However, you can prepay for your gratuities by adding it to your cruise fare before you set sail. So you can kind of work it in and pay it off before you set sail. So you don’t have to worry about it, or you can pay it at the end of your sailing. Tips for room service are not included. So be sure to bring a little extra cash to cover that adult beverages are not included in your cruise fare.

Alcohol

Alcohol is not included and no, there are no drink packages that you can buy beforehand, but you can bring onboard a six pack per person or a bottle of wine per person with you in your carrying on to take to enjoy on your cruise. Any alcohol tastings or mixology classes will cost you extra.

Spa Services and Fitness Classes

While you have use of the fitness facility while onboard, if you’d like to take a class or have private training, you will have to pay extra for that. In addition, spa services will cost you extra.

WIFI

Wifi is not included and it will cost you a pretty penny. So I encourage you to cut off from the rest of the world while you vacation.

Port Adventures

Your port adventures are not included in your cruise fare. So that’s anything that you want to do outside of your cruise. So in port, if you want to go on like a dolphin excursion, or if you want to go visit Atlantis, that’s all extra.

Photo Packages

There are photographers throughout the Disney cruise ship who will take pictures of your family on with specialty backgrounds. And they’ll also take pictures of your family with the characters, and you can see all these prints in the photo gallery and you’ll have to pay to purchase those. So just to let you know, the photography prints are not included in your Disney cruise fare.

Movie Snacks

If you’re catching a movie in the theatre, you’ll see that there is a cart with popcorn and candy and snacks, and all of those items are not included in your Disney cruise fare, but you can go upstairs to the pool deck and grab a quick service snack and bring that back to the theatre with you.

Disney Cruise Line Transfers

Disney Cruise Line Transfers are not included in your cruise fare, unlike the magical express, if you’re used to traveling Walt Disney World. Disney Cruise Line transfers costs additional money. So if you want to take the cruise line bus from either the airport or your resort, you’ll have to book that separately and pay an additional cost.
